코로나 펜데믹으로 인해 우리가 맞이한 미래는 폐쇄와 격리의 모습을 띠고 있었다.

참여형 설치 조형물 <THE SUNRISE>를 통해 개개인의 관객들은 해를 띄우는 행위의 참여자가 된다. 관객들은 태양이 유래하는 산의 주위를 도는 애니미즘적 경험을 통해 응시자에서 참여자로 탈바꿈하게 되며, 관객의 참여로 작동하는 태양의 상승을 통해 실내 폐쇄와 대비되는 자연으로 표현된 희망의 가치를 환기하고, 상실된 일상에 대한 회복을 기원한다.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the future we faced was characterized by closure and isolation.

Through the participatory installation sculpture <THE SUNRISE>, each individual spectator becomes a participant in the act of raising the sun. By experiencing the animistic movement of the sun around the mountain, viewers are transformed from spectators to participants, and the rising of the sun, which operates through audience participation, rekindles the value of hope expressed in nature, contrasting with the indoors' sense of closure, and hopes for a recovery of the lost everyday life.

'동 트기 직전이 가장 어둡다'

사용자가 잔디밭을 거닐며 비정형적으로 숨겨진 발판들을 밟으면 태양이 서서히 떠오르며 주변을 밝혀새벽 일출을 바라보는듯한 희망적인 자연 명상의 경험을 선사한다.

"Just before dawn is the darkest"

As users walk on the grass field and step on the hidden footsteps in an irregular pattern, the sun gradually rises and illuminates the surroundings, offering a hopeful natural meditation experience as if watching the sunrise.
